Serviceability Performance of Externally Prestressed Steel-Concrete Composite Girders

The behavior of externally prestressed composite beams under short term loading has been studied. A computer program developed originally by Oukaili to evaluate curvature is modified the deflection beam flexural load. analysis model based on deformation compatibility entire structure that allows determine full history strain and stress distribution along cross section depth, increment in external tendons .The evaluation curvatures for involves iterations computing strains vectors at each node any stage. determined using equations depended member points connection. proposed results load –deflection response are compared with experimental data taken from Auyyb's beams. For straight tendon profile average discrepancy reached 5.77%, 8.48% 5.23% corresponding 0.25, 0.5 0.75 maximum load, respectively. draped profile, analytical deflections values 15.5%, 5.8% 6.45%
